About ScopeGoat
Why we built the barn, and how to reach the herd.
The origin story
ScopeGoat started as a Google Spreadsheet a digital services team used to estimate web, Drupal, Laravel, and design projects. It worked, until it didn't: broken formulas, version conflicts, no real permissions, and no good way to track a project once the estimate turned into actual work. That spreadsheet was basically a barn held up by duct tape and hope. ScopeGoat is built by a small team led by Irina Z., who's spent 20+ years scoping and shipping projects like these and picked up enough spreadsheet battle scars to know exactly which parts to keep and which to put out to pasture. It's one of a handful of apps under Pawcasso (that's the name you'll see on your billing statement), a US-based org.
So that's what happened: we kept the parts that worked, rebuilt the rest as a proper app, and put the goats in charge of quality control.
What it's for
ScopeGoat helps teams and agencies of any size build structured estimates, track hours and cost by skill and phase, manage team capacity, and run the project once it starts. It's already behind hundreds of real estimates and tens of thousands of tracked hours for the herd it grew out of. No bloated project-management suite, no spreadsheet held together with macros: just the estimating and planning workflow, done properly, with a goat watching over it.
No AI tax, either. We're not bolting on a chatbot just to justify a price hike. Pricing stays plain and upfront, on purpose, no wolves in sheep's clothing.
